We are a family-owned company dedicated to building high quality homes in New York’s Capital Region.
Our Story
Matt McPadden started his building career working with a builder on a solar designed home.
Next, he worked hands on learning all the different trades working with a renovation contractor in Niskayuna.
As the quantity of work started to increase, he hired carpenters to accommodate the grow growing business.
Being that there was a large demand for high-quality house framing in the early 2000’s, McPadden Builders captured much of that market and has framed many of the area builders’ houses.
At that point, McPadden started building single family homes start-to-finish, ranging from entry-level homes designed to meet a budget, all the way to custom designed estate homes.
Today, McPadden Builders is a trusted name in home design and construction in and around Saratoga County and New York’s Capital Region.
After 13 years in business, McPadden participated in Saratoga’s annual Showcase of Homes (held by the Saratoga Builders Association) event for the first time in 2015, competing with the area’s most popular and reputable builders.
Despite being a newcomer to the event, quality speaks for itself: McPadden swept the awards for their category – Classic Homes – winning 6 awards, including the coveted Realtor’s Choice and People’s Choice titles.

Our Simple 12 Step Building Process
- Contact Rick Gargiulo of Howard Hanna or your own real estate agent to work as your “Buyer’s Agent”. The agent will get paid by McPadden Builders and will guide you through many of the details.
- The real estate agent will assist you to meet with a bank and/or mortgage broker in order to get a prequalification letter in place.
- Visit our model home(s) to see the quality. Rick will give you all the necessary information on the site, the home models and all of the options that are available.
- Determine the model you would like, the lot, and any options you would like to include and present it to Rick for review.
- Sign contract and specifications. Contracts are given to both lawyers at this point for review.
- Obtain the final commitment letter from lender as we submit for the building permit.
- Visit our model home to make your final selections for interior and exterior.
- Once we have the final commitment letter from the bank as well as the building permit, construction may start.
- Notice will be given as construction nears one month to completion in order for lender and lawyers to be prepared for upcoming closing.
- Builder obtains Certificate of Occupancy from town and passes along to lawyers.
- Final walk through is scheduled with Real Estate Agents, Builder and Homeowners
- Closing takes place within 7 Business Days of Certificate of Occupancy, utilities are switched and you move in!
